“The restoration of friendly relations.” This is a dictionary definition of Reconciliation. Something was in between and now the barrier has been removed and the relationship has been mended. Our God is a God of reconciliation who, in Jesus, has brought us back to a state of friendliness. Jesus did this by exchanging our sins for His holiness, purity, and innocence. There is no barrier between us and God and also between us and one another because of the exchange in Jesus. Today’s sermon looks at the unity that we have through Jesus in Ephesians 2:11-22 and the call to join God in the ministry of reconciliation from 2 Corinthians 5:14-6:1.
