“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This is the last promise of Jesus in the book of Matthew. He made this promise to the 11 apostles after Judas left them. The promise that He made to them is a promise to be with them as they followed His call to make disciples who would also be empowered and led through the authority and power of Jesus to make other disciples. In 2 Corinthians 5:15-18 we have made a promise to Jesus to be His ambassadors and ministers of reconciliation. Jesus is always faithful to his promise, and we often benefit from a reminder and re-commitment to our promise. Today’s sermon is intended to help us appreciate the promise of Jesus in the Great Commission as we also re-affirm our commitment to Him. Thank you for being in God’s word together.
